GRIFFITH--June 5, 1902 at his home, No. I - 14e St., South Side, Pittsburg[h], Thomas Griffith, son of Philip and Margaret Griffith, died atthe age of a little over 13 years old. He was taken ill on Decoration Day, the day that graves of old soldiers are decorated. Thomas was making grat preparations for this occawsion because he was a member of the Public School Cadets and was with those who expected to go to decorate the graves on the 30b- Brain Fever wasthe cause of death. He was baptized at the Chatham Church throe years ago, and he proved himself a good little soldier for Jesus Christ. He was precocious and showed obvious signs of a brilliant future. He was a great reader of the Word of God, and he took
part in public meetings. His character attracted the love and admiration of all who knew him. A respectfrrl funeral was held on Saturday the 7e. Hundreds of sehool children were present and fifty ofthe Cadets were responsible for conveying the body to its place of rest in South Side Cemetery. This experience has been bitter for the dear parents, his two brothers and his sister, and the sympathies of a host of friends are with them as well as those of the church members where the father is a deacon.-E.
