The Rev. D. D. Hopkins of Porth, Rhoadda, South Wales has answercd the call from Chatham Street church. At the annual meeting the following were elected to the Board of Trustees for this year: Phillip Rogers; Daniel Davios; William Lewis; T. R. Walters andJ. D. Pritchard.
The first Saturday of the new year the Ladies' Aid Society of Chatham St. Church met. T. R. Walters gave opening address. Rev. T. T. Evans @oric Gwent) glye aBardic lecture. Mary Williams Cooper gave a recitation. H. D. Rees of Wilkinsburg presented selections on the gramophone. Miss Mae Lewis was presonted with a purse of money [gold] for her faithfulness as church organist which she has done for years. William Lewis, loader of the singing, was presented with a silk umbrella as recognition of his contribution to the singnng in the church. Like his daughter, the father has bee,n faithful....
"The Messenger" is a trew monthly magazine in the city edited by the Rev. John R Thomas, M. A. mister at Oakland church. The next issue will have a column on music edited by W.J. Jones. Price25 cents per year.
The St David's Society has seconded the invitation of the Druidic Society of Scranton to the Hon. D. tloyd George, to pay a visit to this country next summer....

Mrs. Ann Vaughan Jones of kvona, Pa. is visiting our clty. I\drs. T. B. Lewis of East End is ill, suffering from ar0ritis. Morgan Evans of Idlewood was ill lately but is befrer. John W. Roberts, our Welsh tailor, is in Scranton, Pa. with his mother and relations for Christmas.
Quite cold weather with more snow than wo've had for many years. Many are complaining about high prices for the necessities of life. Prices arc hlgh on everything but wages, and it hard to imagine how the poor workers will make ends meet.
