Had my first job here when leaving school in 1976, my mother worked here from the age of 15 til she retired at 65 and when she had us 6 children the factory used to deliver work in vans the our house , even my father worked in the wearhouse for a time and my brother learned his trade and later became an official Singer sewing machine mechanic , there was about 1000 people working here at one time and it boasted that you could be measured for a suit and coat and by the time you toured the factory you suit and coat would be waiting for you at the end, good times, Paul Vaughan
